About Workshop(s)
At Atelier Roujas, we also propose workshops for amateur photographers of all ages to enhance their skills, with a bit of practice, small tricks and good advice.
The workshops are for anyone: you can be in it for the fun, to get a nice shot of your child on his/her confirmation day or you can need photographic skills to produce content for example for the website or social media of your own company.
Why would you let me teach you?
Since 10 years I have been invited to present and talk about my work and methods, here’s what I have done:
- I have taught Beauty photography at UAS level
- I have taught Portraits Photography to Art Students
- I have taught Masterclasses about Fashion Show photography and Workflow Management to professionals in Prague, Paris and Kyiv.
Not to mention that I am a really nice guy to work with.
Below you can find the different types of workshops that I will be hosting. I you don’t see something that you would like, not to worry. Just drop me an email and I can tailor workshops for small groups.
Workshop - Portraits
It doesn't require too much equipment to remarkably improve the quality of your portraits. Instead of teaching one way of doing portraits, this workshop is all about methods to help the photographer to realize the portrait he/she wanted.
Positioning, selection of light source and interaction between models and photographers are the key words of this fun and immediately rewarding workshop.
How long is the workshop ?
On saturdays, 6 hours (12:00-18:00)
What I will learn ?
To develop your photographic skills, to choose the right kind of of portrait adapted to your mindset and your equipment and to gain confidence in photographing people.
What are the requirements ?
Photography basics ; knowledge of editing and retouching tools (Lightroom) is valuable
What equipment do I need ?
A simple DSLR and your lens of choice are necessary.
Should I bring a model ?
There will be model(s) during the workshop.
Where does the workshop take place ?
In my studio Atelier Roujas, in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa.

Workshop - Basics of Studio Photography
Reflectors, stands, flash and backdrop, discover the basic tools of studio photography with flash. Around simple task such a portraits and still life, participants will get familiar with all tools, from handmade reflectors to professional light-shapers.
Requirements : good knowledge of photographic theory.
Equipment : any DSLR
Duration : 10 hours (2x5h Sat/Sun)
